We started the weekend off with playing with our neighbor friends and making yummy treats. Lucas loves to be my helper because that means he gets to snack along the way! We both were caught snacking, but we couldn't help it. The bird nest treats we made were just too delicious!
Easter morning Lucas woke up and found his firetruck right away. He has been walking around saying firetruck nonstop for the past couple weeks. He has a very small firetruck, but it's obviously not up to his standards. The Easter bunny fulfilled his wishes and he got a bigger firetruck, along with hot wheels, animals for his zoo, books, bubbles, chalk, and more.
It was so fun watching him dig into his Easter basket and tell us everything he was finding. His language is developing so much, and his new favorite thing is to ask, "What's that?" when he hears different noises. Whenever he hears a plane in the sky he looks up to find it, points, and shouts "A plane, a plane!"
After Easter basket fun, we went to early church, then had both families over for brunch and an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Lucas and I made yummy bird's nests and chocolate covered strawberries to look like carrots. We also made delicious pear and brie french toast that is to die for!
Lucas and Mackenzie enjoyed their brunch and then had a great time hunting for eggs. Lucas grabbed a couple eggs, and then had fun shaking them instead of hunting for more. Mackenzie however was a champ, and had a great time showing her little cousin how it's done.
Love them!
Lucas woke up Friday morning with a sty on his left eye. By Sunday morning it was pretty bad, the whole lid swollen and red. Luckily it didn't slow him down and he was still his happy self!
The weather was beautiful and we really enjoyed getting to spend the day outside.
Of course there is always Papa time.
Snacking on treats from his eggs.
It amazes me to look at family pictures from the previous Easter and to see how much Lucas has grown. We are so blessed, and had a great time celebrating with family and friends.
"He is not here; He has risen, just as He said." Matthew 28:6
Happy Easter!
xoxo, Kara
