We decided to take a vacation to San Diego to enjoy some family time, go to Legoland, and visit our best friends, the Christman's, who recently moved back to SD. The first couple nights we stayed in a hotel downtown, which the boys thought was super special. We played at the park on the water nearby, where Lucas climbed trees, we played soccer, and enjoyed the sunset.
On our second day we rented this bike to ride around the docks and downtown area near our hotel. It was more work than it looked like, and Matt and I had many laughs trying to steer. Lucas kept saying to go faster, then told us this bike was a lot of work, as he sat in the front just getting to enjoy the views. Funny kid!
After a morning of riding around we headed to the USS Midway Museum. The boys so enjoyed climbing in and out of the different planes. Lucas asked a bunch of questions, and loved talking to the volunteers about which planes went the fastest.
On our second full day, we got up early, packed up the car, and headed up to Legoland. This was our first time going, and we got lucky with very little crowds! Lucas was big enough to enjoy all of the rides, and while there were many Caleb couldn't go on, he liked the ones he was big enough for.
Lucas's favorite part was the aquarium. As I've said before this child loves aquariums. It was fun to see the animals, and also the amazing sea creatures and structures built out of legos.
Favorite ride by all three! The large boat that went back and forth and swung all around. I thought it was scare Caleb, but he was cracking up the entire time.
At the end of the day we let Lucas pick out his first lego set. Ever since, he has been hooked to legos, and they are at the top of this years Christmas list already.
Next we headed to Auntie Jamie and Uncle Justin's to spend a days with them and their girls. It has been so fun watching these four together over the years. Lucas and Avery are to peas in a pod with very similar first born personalities. Caleb and Kennedy are the go with the flow, happy little ones.
Sleepovers are the best! How sweet are they?
I think Kennedy was going in for a kiss, Caleb was a little unsure.
We had so much fun, and as always were sad to leave our friends. Can't wait to make it down for another visit!
xoxo
