Eight Months Young

Sweet Cal Cal you are eight months old now!
You love being in your bouncer and bouncing all around.
You are full on teething, but still have the cutest toothless grin.
You love sitting up, putting everything in your mouth, and watching Lucas play.
You still don't like being on your tummy, and every time we put you on your tummy you roll right to your back. I keep telling you that you can't learn to crawl on your back but you don't seem to care. You know I'll tote you around everywhere. :)
You are a talker! You are always making noises and talking up a storm.

Lucas sat down next to Caleb and said, "I want to put my arm around him and say cheese."

Love these two! Now stop growing so fast my little people!!

A boy and his dog...

A conversation with Lucas...
Me: I'd rather you not feed the dog your cheerios.
Lucas: But that's what boys do. Sometimes boys feed their dogs. Feeding the dog is good manners, not bad manners mom.

What does one even say to that? It's so hard not to laugh when he says things like this. No matter how many times we ask him to not feed Stoli, he is always sneaking her a little something. They are clearly on the same team, and have each other's back.

I always say that they have a love hate relationship, with Lucas doing a lot of the loving and Stoli being, well, annoyed. She definitely loves him though. Lucas is so attached to her. He cries when we leave her at the groomers, and repeatedly asks when we can go pick her up. Whenever we walk in the door the first thing he says is, "Where is Stoli?" and he runs off to find her. Our sweet Stoli is now sixteen and her health has been slowly declining. I try not to think about when we'll have to say goodbye to her, and how hard it will be on all of us, especially Lucas. These moments are so special to us. I love how much he loves her.

How cute are these two?!?

Bishop's Pumpkin Farm

Last weekend the four of us took our family trip to Bishop's Pumpkin Farm. This is by far my favorite place to go to for pumpkins. There are so many fun things to do plus there is the biggest pumpkin patch with pumpkins on the vine! The boys and I had just been a couple days prior for Lucas's field trip, but we lived it up all again with train rides, hay rides, yummy treats, and lots of laughs. Oh, and a pony ride that even Caleb got to join in on. I was pretty unsure about him going on the pony at first, but he kept smiling and laughing with every little bump.

Days like this are what it's all about!

Lucas's First Field Trip

Today Lucas went on his first school field trip! Caleb and I were lucky enough to tag along, and I'm pretty sure I had just as much fun as Lucas did. It was packed full of fun with train rides, hay rides, pumpkin patches, pigs, goats, and of course, cookies! Bishop's Pumpkin Farm is our favorite pumpkin patch, and this is our third year going. We will be going back very soon with daddy for our annual trip.

Having a preschooler is always an adventure. Lucas is constantly cracking us up with the things he says, and keeping us on our toes with endless play. On our drive to the pumpkin farm this morning he got the hiccups and this was the conversation we had.
L: I have the hiccups mom.
Me: Yes you do, would you like some water?
L: Mom, sometimes when kids have the hiccups they say, "Mom, I have the hiccups."

And on that note, here are some photos from our day.

Lucas and his friend Lily

Petting the pigs... I seriously want a farm. Matt's not feeling me on this one... I'm sure I can get him to come around.

His favorite part... riding the train!

My sweet Cal and I on the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch.

They could choose any pumpkin they wanted, big or small, and he chose this little one. He picked it up and said, "This one is just perfect mom!" Yes, yes it is my bug.

:)

These two were side by side most of the day. It was so cute.

Successful first field trip!
